The fast boat services from Bali to Gili Air depart from Serangan, Padang Bai and Amed in Bali. We suggest choosing your departure harbour based on your pick-up location. Blue Water Express and Gili Getaway depart from Serangan in South Bali, while Gili Gili and Blue Water Express offer Padang Bai departures (east Bali).

If you're staying in Ubud or Candidasa a Padang Bai departure is recommended with Gili Gili or Blue Water Express. They both offer a direct route to the Gili Islands of which Gili Air is often the second stop with Gili Gili, and the third stop with Blue Water Express. If you're staying in the North of Bali around the Amed or Tulamben area we recommend a departure from Amed to Gili with Freebird Express.

How do I get from Bali Denpasar Airport to Gili Air?

If your flight arrival time at Denpasar Airport is no later than 8:00AM, you can catch a boat to Gili Air from Serangan harbour, which is 30 minutes away from the airport. For arrivals between 8:00AM and 09:30AM, it is possible to book a later boat to Gili Air with airport pick up through our sister site Gilitickets.com.

The last boat from Bali to Gili Air departs at 1:30PM from Padang Bai harbour. Please note it takes 90 minutes to get to Padang Bai from the airport, and fast boat check in time is 30 minutes before departure. Therefore, if your flight arrives after 10:00AM we recommend booking a hotel for the night in South Bali, then getting an early fast boat to Gili Air the next day.

Gili Air the closest Gili island to Lombok, and the most popular after Gili Trawangan. It has a perfect balance of great places to stay, things to do, restaurants and bars while offering more peace and quiet than Gili T. The East side of the island boasts spectacular views of distant Mt. Rinjani in Lombok, especially at sunrise. The island is surrounded by beautiful clear water teeming with life. Since it's been gaining popularity in recent years, all fast boat services from Bali to the Gili islands have Gili Air as one of the stops (usually right after Gili T). When arriving by fast boat to Gili Air, most passengers disembark at the dedicated jetty in the harbour area. Gili Gili is a fast boat operator that offers a daily departure from Padang Bai on Bali to Gili Air, Gili Trawangan and Lombok. A second high season departure in the afternoon is available usually from June to September. From Padang Bai the boat departs at 08:30, arriving at Gili Trawangan at 10:00, Gili Air at 10:20 and Lombok (Bangsal harbour) at 11:35, followed by a return trip from Gili Air to Bali.

Padang Bai to Gili Air

Gili Gili departs from Padang Bai in East Bali but they will pickup for free from popular areas in South Bali, so are a great option from places like Kuta or Seminyak to Gili Air. It is also the best place to depart from Ubud to Gili Air. The travel time by sea from Padang Bai to Gili Air is approximately 2 hours.

Gili Gili fast boat provides air conditioned free pick-up and return to your hotel or villa in Bali from Sanur, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa, central Ubud and Padang Bai. Pick up time for Padang Bai departures is approx 2-3 hours before departure time, but the exact time depends on your pick up location and will be confirmed once you have booked.

On the map you can see the departure location in Padang Bai, East Bali. For check-in, please proceed directly to their office at the Padang Bai Terminal at Jl. Raya Siayukti. On Gili Trawangan you will arrive and depart from Ocean 2 Restaurant and Bungalow, next to Manta Dive, on Gili Air from the local harbor in front of Ocean 5 restaurant and on Lombok from Bangsal Harbor in Pemenang, North Lombok.

Luggage allowance: The maximum allowance per passenger is 2 pieces of luggage with a total weight of 25kg. Excess luggage will be charged extra.

For cancellations made more than 2 weeks prior to travel, a full refund is provided. Cancellations less than 2 weeks but more than 48 hours from departure are subject to 50% refund only. Cancellations less than 48 hours prior to departure are non-refundable.

In cases of unexpected illness etc., exceptions can be considered if doctor's notes/other proof can be provided. Contact Gili Gili using their details found on your e-tickets. If you wish to change your travel dates, you can do so for free (subject to availability), up to 48hrs prior to departure. If you need to change your route or boat carrier entirely, please contact us direct for assistance, bearing in mind the above mentioned refund policy.
